Alidu Shaibu
Alidu Shaibu is the heart and soul of the school, its founder and director. He is originally from Larabanga, Ghana, and is the fourth of nine siblings.
He later settled in Tamale with his wife and two wonderful children. Nowadays, he spends a lot of time in Hungary to help build the Africa Aid Foundation alongside us and support those back home.
Alidu's story
Alidu Shaibu studied at the Tamale Technical University between 2015 and 2018. His teachers, and later colleagues, quickly noticed his talent, passion for education, and encouraged him to eventually establish his own school.
By 2017, he was already teaching at a local school, where his dedication and sense of mission did not go unnoticed. Two years later, in 2019, he began the difficult journey of making his dream a reality by starting to build classrooms for his own school. He invested all of his previous savings into the project.

However, building the school came with numerous challenges. There is still no roof above the classrooms, which has already caused Shaibu to lose several students. The school lacks basic necessities for its operation, such as computers, a school bus, library books, furniture, drinking water, and electricity, which is still considered a luxury. Additionally, ensuring the payment of teachers remains a constant challenge.

Thanks to Shaibu's perseverance and dedication, the school has had a significant impact on the local community, despite the hardships. It currently provides shelter to five students who have no home. Part of the donations will be used to offer free education to children in need.

Though over the years he has often felt hopeless, Shaibu has never given up on his dreams and his life’s work. He believes in destiny, which may be his greatest driving force, and his dedication carries him through the difficulties. His life and story are inspiring to all of us. They prove that perseverance and commitment to dreams can create miracles, laying the foundation for the future of an entire community.
